Published on Apr 19, 2019

Top IT and Information Security experts gathered at an Infosec event organized by Bright Consulting together with its strategic partners BMC Software and Splunk Inc. – “Security: Now and the Future”. The event featured hot topics in the CyberSec area – how to go beyond the traditional approach and tackle the increasing complexity of cyberattacks and vulnerabilities.

The main topics were covered with a focus on specific use cases and stories of real-life solution implementations in the areas of:

  • Vulnerability and compliance management;
  • Security operations (SecOps);
  • Security incident and event management (SIEM);
  • Fraud analysis and detection;
  • Identity management.

Guest speaker Héctor García, digital service operations expert at BMC Software, talked about how automation can help companies prevent and react quickly to security breaches and decrease blind spots and human error to a minimum by keeping IT staff away from simple repetitive tasks. The conversation then moved to an analytics-driven approach, presented by Dimitris Lambrou, senior sales engineer at Splunk Inc., who showcased ways to use machine-generated big data for bringing SIEM to the next level and manage the risk of fraud in real-time. Asparuh Vasilev, the senior consultant at Bright, sparked a vivid discussion on how Identity Management starts with business needs and goes much further than access management, and presented technology from SailPoint. Bright’s general manager Angel Kanchev together with senior experts Petar Doychinov and Ivan Pirishanchin also gave a consulting viewpoint regarding all topics of the day and put them into practical perspective by sharing details about SecOps projects implementation and organizational challenges, as well as a live Splunk demo.

“Security Now and the Future was a valuable meeting with security experts to explore capabilities of the future to stay ahead in the cybersecurity space,”

– said Ramadan Tairov, Information Security Lead at Mondelez, after the event.

.The attendee list included IT and Security professionals from leading Bulgarian banks, telecoms, government organizations, retail, and manufacturing companies.
